I have destroyer and was wondering the best way to use it. I was looking through the Ochem section and memorized the road maps. How much of the test will be over just predicting products? Anyway any suggestions on how and when you use destroyer would be great.

I didn't use Destroyer but try to understand the mechanism vs pure memorization.

you know everyone here says the destroyer's o/g chems are a bit overkill. and I do agree with it. I took my first dat in May and got 22 oc. I am retaking due to my low RC. Anyway I didn't have destroyer for my first dat. Now I have it and went through once. I feel if you know the kap bb or review note by heart, you don't want to get stressed by missing some problems on destroyer's ochem. Just study kaplan real good and use destroyer as a practice. I think the roadmaps pretty much cover all the rxns you need. gl!

So here is my take. Destroyer is an amazing tool. It is designed based on the breakdown of the DAT that is on ADA.org.

What I suggest is the same as most. Study it. Use is as an extra tool inyour arsenal. The questions that you do not get right, learn them, not just the answer but the way to do the question itself. But be prepared.

Destroyer is called destroyer for a reason. But using it will only enhance what you already know and might even teach you a thing or two.

do NOT start destroyer unless you are solid in you sciences.

I agree but its an AWESOME resource! About the reactions: maybe 3-5 forward and one where they give you the products and say what formed this

Agreed, destroyer is the most valuable resource for each science. It may be a slight bit more difficult than the DAT, but is a preparation tool, not a practice test. You want to prepare for something a little morer difficult so that when something wierd comes up you have no problems answering it. Know the destroyer cold, cover to cover, and understand each and every solution. It is the only way to do well. I got 2 questions wrong in Gen Chem and orgo, and there were two mistakes on my DAT both in orgo. It is very feasible to get a 30 on those 2 sections just from completely understanding destroyer. I can not recommend it more.

Ive gone thorough destroyer 4/5 times already and it makes me feel confident that any type if problem that will appear ill be able to say oh thats just like question x in destroyer. And remember there is no such thing as overkill!
