how much of the stuff in HY embryo / neuro / gross do i need to be committing to memory?
i'll read the chap. and all the clinical stuff (clinical sticks for me since it's related to path), but the other stuff in chapter isn't going to get memorized in the time i have left. after i finish the HYbook, i go over FA and add a bit of what i remember and some stuff really pops out at me in FA, and i think i better understand FA, but is that what i should be doing? 😕 (i really just want a 220 at least on step 1).
any help, especially from those who have taken step 1 (stinger, linus, mattie (great score BTW)) will be greatly appreciated!

Sup

2 super HY chapters I came across that u need to look at in case u run out of time is

1) HY Histology chapter 1 - cell biology (this chapter covers all the cell signalling, biochem, histopathology that I keep missing) -everyone knows histo is low yield but this guy Dudek wrote the HY histo book and integrated all the biochem and pathology with histology so this book is really good.

2) The Brainstem lesion chapter in HY Neuro. This chapter is so HY!!! and maybe look at the Hypothalamus chapter if u get time. Maybe the eye reflexes section too?? I dont know.

3) Biochem - look at the urea cycle, and the salvage pathways

4)dont freak out. We are all gonna be doctors and drive nice cars, and have a 2 story house no matter what we get.

Why is this listed as #4--shouldn't be higher? I like the spirit.
Also, I want a 3 story house; does that mean I have to get a 250+? 🙂

Sorry, street doc, back to your question. I would definately do neuro in more detail (memorization) than gross. Gross is such a hit or miss anyways, while, neuro is much more HY and limited amt of info for what the test seems to be asking. This probably doesn't answer your q., and I haven't taken it. But, I am with u on gross/embryo--i've been putting it off, and I really need to get going on it.
