Has anybody recieved any calls from Detroit. I had interviewed on Feb 9 and I havent heard back from them. I know that they are going to be meeting this week to decide, but I am anxiously waiting. I want to know. Also do they let Canadian students know by phone or do they send a letter. Thanks guys.

Hi All,

While I was there, my interviewer mentioned they will be meeting this Friday and next Friday in order to make more decisions. Hope that was a little helpful!
 
so after the interview, does the committe sit down and look at numbers again, or how does it go to decide between applicants?
 
I was under the impression that with UDM you had passed the numbers test, and were basically evaluated on the impression you left on the interviewer based on their standardized report that they fill out after they interview you. The questions were very... expected... so who knows? I know with mine, there were a ton of tangents and you have good conversations so now, that I'm thinking about it, I guess it's hard to say.
 
DETROIT BABY!!!!!! I just got the call this afternoon around 3:45 from Karin the Director of Admissions. I am sooo excited. Good luck to everyone else who is waiting.

for the people who got the call, how long did she speak to you, did she just say you excpeted, man Im almost going crazy, she called me I was teaching a class, she asked me how the interview went and she said that she want to talk to me where my application stands, and she said to call her tom. when Im not busy, man im almost losing it.

I had mine on Feb 9 but I have'nt heard anything since then 🙁.
 
Hey Basimar, I had my interview on the 9th too. Were you the one I talked to that day, the one from UofT. Anyways, hopefully you will get a response from them soon.
 
I interviewed on the 6th, still no call, im not sure that have my number here at school though so they may be trying my house... I should probably check that.

I know UDM is still inviting for interviews, I had friends have one on monday and on friday, so don't give up yet!

I have a question for anyone who got accepted do they call you or do they send acceptances by mail?
 
My experience, and the experience of those I have heard of, has been that they call and then send you a letter via email and a packet via snailmail. I have heard, however, that this is different for those who are out-of-state, i.e. packet only.

Also, I had a question about my deposit and they mentioned that the class is full and they are interviewing for alternate positions. From what I understand, there is a lot of shuffling around and that quite a few are pulled from the waitlist. Best of luck!

Thanks so much for the help. I interviewed on Feb. 20 and I can't stand the waiting. I am from Nevada and I was hoping that the snailmail was just taking extra long. I hope I hear from them soon.

You never know what the class dynamic will be. It is just the luck of the draw, really. I wouldn't stay away from UDM because of the opinion of one disgruntled student.

I saw this post before it was edited and part of what was said is in DentAZ's 4-19 response in the "quote box". It was pretty bad.

Obviously UDM Def and DR2Bsoon are the same person since they both misspelled "rescinded". That little snippet looks pretty awful though - it's probably better that it's gone.
 
How easy is it to get to Dental School after undergraduation at Uni of Detroit Mercy? What is the lowest GPA and DAT score that is accepted? I am just starting my pre-dentistry = Biology undergraduate degree in uofdm. Please let me know.

You know Doc Toothache has tons of resources posted around Pre-Dental with information like average GPA/DAT? I'm on mobile right now so I can't link it but if you were able to use search to post in a thread that has been dead for 6 years you can certainly find Doc Toothache's documents!
