Do any of you guys know how late the Detroit Mercy interviews going? And has anyone gotten a letter outlining all of their supplementary info stating they want a written response to an inquiry saying if you intend to repeat the DAT in an attempt to get higher grades? I ask because I thought my DAT scores were pretty competitive 20's across the board w. 18 in bio only. Just wanted some peoples opinions (AA 19, TS 19). So I have no clue what's going on..or am I just **** outta luck?

Yeah I have no idea how late UDM interviewing. I have heard of people that still have interviews in early Feb though. As far as your DAT scores go, I had similar scores (19aa, 20ts) with one low one (15QR) and also received that letter. I told them that I was not intending on retaking it, but if the admissions committee requests a retake, I would consider it. My 15 QR never came up at the interview and I was accepted Dec 1st. So I doubt the 18 bio would screw you over as long as the rest of your app is strong.

Not sure when their interviews end, but I don't think you'll need to retake the DAT. I had a 16 in QR. I sent a letter stating that I would consider retaking the DAT if necessary, but my grades in calc should indicate my proficiency in QR (my other scores were 20's). So, you may have to do the same to indicate your willingness to retest if needed. I was interviewed in Nov, accepted Dec 1 and was told via the monthly update letter that a retake was not necessary. Is your GPA & LOR's in good shape? Good luck, I hope you get the call.

Don't sweat the DAT retake... I got the same letter today and found it amusing considering my scores (my lowest score is a 19 in QR). I think it's a generic letter that they send ppl to give them a chance to update the school with what they're doing. However, if you have any doubts about your scores, saying that you're willing to retake is a good idea.

I have a question though: when they say that they want you to respond to their inquiry in writing, is it alright to just respond by e-mail?

nah they want that in a letter form via mail.

I had a QR of 14 and they just ask about it and the discussion was dropped after I explained. If you did not struggle in math QR is irrelavent.

they told me at my interview in november that they were planning on interviewing through june. they didn't start their interviews until mid-november so they have a few months to catch up on. plus, they only interview between 1 and 4 students per day. also, i would advice you respond to them in writing, because Karin (the dean of admissions) told me in May that they use those letters as a way to see how well you can communicate (ie, are you polite, etc.). They said that those responses show them a lot about peoples character i guess.

I got the same letter. I can't really retake the DAT in time though because the Canadian DAT is only held twice a year (right in the middle of midterms both times!). The annoying part was that they wanted me to retake the CARVING PORTION. American schools, to my knowledge, didn't even look at that score.

I don't know if I'm going to though since I am lucky enough to have an acceptance elsewhere, would you guys still recommend following through with the application and the potential interview? I really liked BU, and although I've heard great things about UDM, I'm not so keen on the idea of living in Detroit.

To the people with prior acceptances, are you still continuing with your ongoing applications and interviews if you have any?
