Is Developmental Optometry synonymous with Pediatric Optometry? How are these related to Behavioral Optometry? I've tried doing my own research but I'm still confused. Thanks.
I'm not sure anyone knows this answer. Don't think I've even ever heard of developmental optometry. Where did that come from? Pediatric optometry just means treating visual conditions in children. Pediatric can include pediatric disease, amblyopia, strabismus, vision therapy, learning and vision ect. In my mind behavioral optometry is the group of optometrists who use mostly non scientifically researched therapies (not saying it doesn't work). Check out OEP (optometric extension program) and to a lesser degree COVD for more info.
