remember you use preservatives for any depomedrol injection, including polyethylene glycol. so, in a way, your CESI with dex would be no different from a preservative standpoint than someone else's CESI with depomedrol.
preservative free dex actually does contain a "preservative", but citric acid is not considered by the FDA to be a preservative.

Don't sweat it. Have had several patients that have said previous ESI done elsewhere resulted in CSF leak, PDPH. I'm sure at least some of these had some IT steroid with preservative. Never seen arachnoiditis from ESI.
