I’ll take the bait:

~95% likelihood of failure in humans based on precedent

3x more study authors than there were rats studied

Authors report their study med’s risk for abuse as “similar to fentanyl” (yet seem to cast it in a positive light)


Can’t wait for the media to begin extolling the virtues of this miracle molecule, what could go wrong?
 
LOL. Based on the history of new opioids or similar drugs, it will eventually be found addictive.
 
They should try to encapsulate more things the way they do with Xtampza. Tamper proof what we have.
 
technical study.


concerns -
1. rat model. multiple instances of substances working in rats that do not work similarly in humans.

2. they did not seem to use a lot of rats. i see 7 or 8 rats per test.

2. this concept that it doesnt cause brain hypoxia. well, it does, just at higher doses. (i took the liberty of removing references for easier reading)

At equipotent doses, 0.03 mg kg−1 intravenous fentanyl (1.5-fold greater than the analgesic ED50. Comparative neuropharmacology of structurally distinct non-fentanyl opioids that are appearing on recreational drug markets worldwide. produced significantly greater hypoxia than 0.01 mg kg−1 intravenous FNZ (twofold greater than the analgesic ED50) , which produced comparable hypoxia to fentanyl only at a dose 6 times greater than its subcutaneous analgesic ED50 (that is, 0.03 mg kg−1).

frankly, sounds a lot like initial studies on tramadol...
