Hi everyone,

I just interviewed at Dartmouth (DHMC) in NH for an anesthesia residency position. All the info in SDN regarding DHMC anesthesia is several years old and they've since named a new chairman and program director. Anyone out there have a more recent view of the program - strengths? weaknesses? research opportunities? overall quality? I'd really appreciate it!

Well, what did the residents say when you talked with them at dinner? Look for what is unsaid about the program director in the answers you heard. Were the chiefs inspiring or were they brown-nosers, manipulators, or just the type who never take a controversial postion on something and will go along with whatever the administration says? You know - the kind that give one word answers without a lot of depth. If I were you, I'd be much more concerned about the strength (or lack thereof) of the program director (& probably the education director) rather than the chair.
