Hey all, I thought some of you might be interested in reading this book that was recommended to me. It's called "Diabetes Rising - How a rare disease became a modern pandemic, and what to do about it" by Dan Hurley

Considering we are going to be dealing with many diabetics in our careers, it is very applicable. It is extremely well-written and I found it fascinating. It's an easy read considering how much research is inserted into the book. It's fairly new (published 2010), but I found it at my public library.

I'll add this to my books to read list. Thanks for sharing!

On a side note, Guns, Germs, and Steel is an interesting book by Jared Diamond (also made into a documentary) on the evolution of human civilizations. The initial rise of diabetes was said to occur when humans began farming and began to have more sedentary lifestyles with huge increases of carbs in their diets. It's a fascinating read of Diamond's theory on how humans evolved to where we are today.
