diagnose please

so I know you don't have your license yet but if you know answer please,

I had a root canal done on my tooth about 3 years ago, then all was good but recently this same tooth started hurting again when I eat sweets. what could it be and what do you think I need.

I'll make an appoinment soon, but anybody have an idea?
