Diagnostic Kits

Hi Sophie,
A diagnostic kit has an otoscope and opthalmoscope in them. They also have extras, like a nasal speculum or maybe a bulb to attach to the otoscope to blow puffs of air into the ear canal to test the tympanic membrane. These kits can run 300-400 dollars, though I got a used one MUCH cheaper.

The same with blood pressure cuffs. My school's book store was selling elaborate sets for over a hundred dollars. I got a very simple one off a nursing web site for less than $25. I didn't want to spend that kind of money for something I would use very little. I have mostly only used mine during my first two years, in the physical dx classes.

Good luck

Billie
