Hey,

I need to get an otoscope/ophthalmoscope and I was wondering does anyone know which are good or not?

the ones I was looking at were

Welch Allyn Diagnostic Set 97150-BI (C Cell)

Welch Allyn 97200-BI Portable 3.5v Elite Diagnostic Set (C Cell) (Slightly more expensive)
and

Welch Allyn 92830 PocketScope Portable Set in Hard Case

and I honestly have no idea what the difference between them (or any of them really) is.

Go for the cheapest one possible. You won't be carrying it around other than in one or two rotations. And lots of hospital rooms, clinics, EDs throughout your career are going to have good ones mounted on the walls for you to use. So don't waste your money. Many upperclassmen end up trying to resell these things to underclassmen at the end of the year. Not only is this evidence of how limited their utility is going to be in your career, but also should suggest where you look for a cheap one.
