Did any of you use private tutors? (if so any recommendations in NY/NJ/CT?

Did anyone use a private tutor for Step 1? I used a tutor towards the end of my MCAT studying and found it really helpful but not sure if this will help for the boards. I am aiming for a 230+.

Also, if you used a tutor or know of anyone who did and liked them-any recommendations for tutors in the NY/NJ/CT area?

Hey Sara,

I think the MCAT is a tougher test than the USMLE Step 1, although Step 1 takes more work. There is a difference between tougher and more work.

In any case, I think that if you were smart enough to get into medical school in America, then you can get a 230+ without a tutor. Just takes time, consistency, etc. I don't think a tutor will help much, because honestly, which tutor can do better than First Aid?

But anyways, that's just my opinion. Maybe some people who have taken courses or have been tutored can reply.
