Did any one take a DAT with 90% word problem math?

Hey guys,

I am retaking the dat in about a month and want to know if anyone out there took a test with a lot of word problems in the math (mine was like 90% word problems!) and I got a 14! Anyway, my TEST reading was on MG, herbal therapy and 2ndary mesengers if that helps u id the test. Anyway, i just want to see what my odds are of geting another exam that all math word problems! I dont want the stupid QR holding me back from entry into dental school! Any help is greatly appreciated!

THE TEST I TOOK TODAY HAD THOSE SAME EXACT READINGS! the bio was ridiculous on that test too. i had bio pretty much memorized in the kaplan book. but for math i got a 17 and i guessed on a ton because of time. rotten eggs.

are the sections picked at random? or if someone were to get these same reading sections, would they get the same bio and chem and so on as before?

Thats what I am trying to figure out. I am taking the test in a month or so and am busting my a** with math and I just pray I dont get all word problems again! My dream is to become a dentist and after working so hard, if math prevents my entry I just dont know what I will do. Meanwhile, i bought destroyer and am studying from it and it is a real help! The bio review is great with really good explainations. The gchem and ochem are also very solid. Atleast if I can bring up my sciences to mid 20's i am hoping ti will overshadow my math. Any advice on how I can improve my math and pat will greatly be appreciated!

for PAT-instead of thinking how to fold something together to make it resemble what the test is asking, look for differentiations between the four choices, this helped me a ton today-paper folding, key holes, and TFE. as for math, i know that kaplan offers a ton of short cuts to get to answers, i used none of these because i was busy trying to memorize bio, gc, orgo. math is stupid anyways and has haunted me since 6th grade.
other than that-kaplan's classroom study session was a waste of 1200. could have bought the book and studied my own to get these scores. topscore gave me a false sense of security, i was hitting mid 20s on their practice tests and had AA and TS of 18 for the real deal.
i'll be retaking the test in january, frantically calling schools begging not to make a decision on me yet, and probably getting destroyer. hopefully going through that is a guaranteed 25 across the board.
