and live to tell about it in Medical School? Translation: Did anybody have a horrible senior year and yet got into medical school? That's my question as it is my present situation. Instead of the favorable upward trend so often mentioned on this board, my GPA trend is bell shaped. ARG! 🙁 I just took the April MCAT and got a 11V, 10PS, 12BS and S on writing. Graduated in 2000 and worked for awhile in a completely different field (entertainment industry in La-la land) and just recently decided to buckle down to medical school. I definitely plan to apply this year and to a VARIETY of schools.
BUT...how do I explain this ghastly affliction in my personal statement. Do I be honest and say that I was burnt out and forsaw a different career path at the time, therefore letting my studies go or think of something else?!? I'm stumped as to how I should handle the matter. I don't want to draw too much attention to it but I know the adcoms will be curious to know my explanation.
Anyone's opinion is much appreciated. A great big thanks to everyone on this board for their help! (I believe in saying thank you and saying it often!!!!)
