I am thinking of applying to Uof A this coming year (school year 2009)and wonder if those applied could share some feedbacks and tips. I live in Arizona, so U of A is on the top of my list.
The last few years have been some of the best years to apply to UA... in 2007 they had 337 applicants, and this year they only had 288 applicants. Compared to some other in-state schools, the odds are great as long as you meet their requirements. Not to mention, they are adding more pre-requisites for next year (2 semesters of physio w/ lab), which might keep the applicant size down for next year as well. As for the application process, plan well in advance for LOR's and the interview - they really emphasize a holistic approach. Having a strong GPA/PCAT is one thing, but glaring deficiencies like no experience/community service will knock you out of the running completely. If you have any questions about applying, I'd be happy to answer them for you.
Thank you justy and congrats!!! I looked at the link and there are a lot of acceptances. I have a good chance, then. I need to retake my PCAT to make my application competitive, though. I will keep you in mind if I have more questions. Thanks, again.
I am starting UA pharm school this fall, so if you have any questions you can ask me also. I attend UA right now as well and will be graduating in May with my BS. I really do love the school. The science and professional schools really have great people working in them. They are always there to help you and generally just nice people. I was really impressed with the pharm school here, more so than the other schools I interviewed at. I agree with everything justyliz said. Good luck!
