I heard that if you got denied or put on hold that you receive an email notifying you about it. If you get accepted you get the status page change which says you are going to receive correspondence in 2 weeks. Any information anybody?

i know this is old, but i am wondering the same. anyone waitlisted or rejected post-interview at uic?

I interviewed at UIC on 11/17 and I finally got a hold of one of their admissions people; they told me that "no final decision has yet been made on your file." No hold, no rejection, no waitlist, no acceptance...just no final decision and no word. My nerves are about to break! :scared:

I read up on some of the older threads and it seems like if you interview early enough (probably January and before), you can't be out-right rejected. If you aren't accepted, they'll just put your application aside and review you again the next month. To me this is similar to a waitlist, but I guess they call it more of a hold.

Later in the season, you can get rejected post-interview. I think you can also receive correspondence indicating you are "waitlisted" which would suggest they won't necessairly accept you unless someone withdraws from an otherwise full class.

Who knows tho...

thanks for the info 👍 I've been wondering the same thing.

I interviewed mid-Dec and have not heard anything, which is frustrating because I would at least expect a hold email. When I called the admissions office, they said that no decision had been made yet, but they did verify that I would get a letter in the case of a rejection or acceptance and an email if I am put on hold. If no decision has been made, would that imply that they haven't even looked at my file yet?

Oh well.. The January meeting is coming up this week, so maybe something will happen soon!
