did american med graduates anyone get the residency plans sidetracked because of CS? So I planned poorly and took my CS this month. However, it wouldn't give me enough time to get a retake if i were to fail. Not feeling good after exam. I'm pretty sure I'll match into a residency slot this march. Even if I matched, would a program not let me join if I didn't have scores in my July 1st?

It all depends on the program. Some programs require CS before you start. Some don't. I know people who didn't even take the exam until almost the end of their intern year (they were hoping that the rumors were true that the test would be eliminated, and they wouln't have to take it). You have to see what the policy is at the programs you applied to.

another issue at my school is that it is a graduation requirement, and I don't think your residency program can let you start if you haven't graduated... so you might want to check on your med school's policy on that. supposedly this was an issue for someone last year but I never heard all the details, I'm guessing it was ugly since they were very emphatic about people taking it early this year.

at my med school, u only need to have taken the USMLE 1,2 ck, and 2 cs to graduate--actually no requirement to pass to get ur diploma. is there a link anywhere saying that u have to have passed CS to do residency? or is it only u need to get diploma for ur med school?

The AMA FREIDA website has profiles of all the residency programs, including whether each individual program requires you to pass CS before you start residency. Try this link
