I can't decide if I should take my mom with me to my interview at PCO. In the interview invite letter it said that family/friends were welcome to come for the tour etc. But I dont really want to be the only person that brings a parent. At my NOVA interview no one brought a guest and so im wondering how common/uncommon it is.

I brought my mom with me. It's only during the interview (~1hr) where she will have nothing to do for that time, however there is a cafeteria/lounge area.

good luck!

i brought my father and he is the reason i'm interested in optometry so my interview actually met with him after my interview. i was the only one that had a parent of the 5 of us that day, but it wasn't uncomfortable or anything. he wandered around and then hung out in the cafeteria while i was being interviewed.

good luck!

Everyone brought a parent except me when I went to the interview. I don't think its a bad thing. The invitation invites you and a guest. Its a good way for someone important to you to learn about the program and tour the area with you.

I say bring someone! It's not a bad thing at all. i brought my brother and another girl brought her boyfriend (4 people interviewed total). It's a great opportunity for you and a family member to tour the campus and get familiar with the area.

I was actually the only interviewee that day, but my Dad came along with me. At all of the schools I interviewed at (SUNY, Western, SCO, Nova, PCO) at least 1 person had a parent or friend. I brought a parent to SUNY, Nova and PCO. I think it's good to have someone else give you a little feedback on the school, in case they see something different than you did.

I brought 3 guests lol. But it's not like they were in the way or anything, more for the boring long car drive. However, the committee people were extremely nice and invited my entourage in. It all went well and showed I had a supportive fan base lol

Have people who interviewed at other schools seen a lot of people bring guests? Personally, I haven't been to an interview with anyone who has a guest. Is it just PCO that has a lot of guests or something?

When I interviewed at NOVA, 3/4 of the interviewees brought a guest. I brought my mom, some brought their significant others. Schools often welcomes guests. 👍

When I interviewed at OSU 3 out of 4 people brought guests. I didn't have anyone but someone brought 3 people.

At Pacific there were only 2 or 3 out of 12 of us that had a guest.

I brought my dad and another person there had their mom... The interviewer brought it up and asked if I came from a supportive family and if my dad was supportive blah blah and it proved he/they are.

I brought my mom with me. It took the edge off for me, personally.
