I know it is a new site, but I like its use of flash cards and it seems to have a tad more detail than FA. I would like to hear from people who used it and took the test.

I know that it is not the only thing you want to use.

I have a subscription right now after having read a lot of the reviews. It does seem to be a pretty great resource. For me it has pointed out (via their daily reviews) that I do not remember things as well as I thought I did. Try their free trial see how you like it.

using it as well right now. one problem is that i hate not remembering things i studied back in the beginning of M1 and i feel like i am almost relearning it on GT which is really slowing me down

It was by far the best thing I did for getting ready for Step 1. It can be slow going at first, but no pain, no gain.

Seelee, as you know, I've been telling everyone to do it. Talking to people in our class who used it on a consistent basis, their step 1 scores have been awesome. Just do it!

i only used the question bank but i thought it was a good adjunct resource; doing extra questions really helps.

been using it for about a week now, can definitely see an improvement in knowledge although i still think it can be a bit different from FA, not as similar as people say. but still useful as an adjunct.

i'm trying to finish is as soon as possible (in about 2 months). for those of u who've fininshed using it at least once or done about half, do u not find that review questions accumulate? at the moment i find myself having to go through about 200 review questions a day and i dont think i'm able to do that daily seeing that i also have to go through new material on the same day...is there a way to limit the number of questions that comes up for review?? doing embryology at the moment, it is such a real killer..

Damn, 200 review q's a day, that can take a while.

Yeah, it's crazy because the more flashcards you do, the more reviews you're gonna have in the next few days. I don't think it works well short term, you gotta give it time. Have you covered all the material in the flashcards in class or are you just doing material from M1?

Yeah the questions can really stack up if you get sick, travel, or abandon GT for an exam. I'm about a third of the way through the flashcards and at some points I've had to go through 200-300 a day normally.

Some days I hate it but I can tell it works. Stuff I never thought I would memorize has finally begun to sink in.

But the more time you put into it the more you get out of it. It's amazing the stuff I have forgotten from first year. I feel like I will have a pretty good jump on pharm when it starts as well, given all my time on this. I like the software and as a slacker it forces me to review stuff daily, which is a huge bonus.

It's definitely not for everyone though. If anyone wants to try a free month (no credit card, no sign ups) let me know and I'll PM you.

yeah 300 qs takes up too much of my time, let alone 200 - takes me at least 1-2 hours just to do the review and some of the questions, to me, are not particularly high yield as they do ask quite a bit of minutiae in parts. im a british grad and planning to do step 1 in Dec..and with full time work...GT is consuming quite a bit of my time. am also using the 1 month free trial. certainly if i have a whole year to use it, it is more worthwhile and less taxing although i'd imagine at the end of the review you will still end up accumulating hundreds of questions.

i may end up just prioritising and go through topics which require more memory work or my weak topics like pharm, micro, biochem and study the rest thru FA/USMLERx/UW. the reality is - at the end of the day, not doing the review questions is useless and that completely defeats the whole point of doing GT. any other thoughts from previous/current users would be appreicated.

i agree, many of the review questions are simply asking for recall of a list of things like tumor markers, etc. it is annoying at first, but eventually you remember it, which is pretty cool.

i haven't tried the exam simulation yet. are those q's the same as the review q's?

anyone else want a free month? we get a free month for each person we give a free month to, so if anyone is down, just let me know. you can get free months from different people, i believe.

yeah, I would like to try it out... 👍

for 1 month free trial - you could also invite yourself using a different email account, it worked for me :O)

If anyone would like to offer me a free month, please PM me - I think I'd like to try it for at least some of the subjects.
