This is better for this forum since you already got accepted , also this applies to difficult schools to get into which require a 3.8 or above. If so please share, hoping to apply to OSU and was interested in early decision. Did it give you an advantage and how does it work do their see your application before everyone else's. Thanks a lot

I applied to 3 schools. I have a 4.0, GRE: 145V, 157Q, 4.0 AW, and observations at inpatient (42 hrs), peds (20 hrs), outpatient ortho (700+; PT Tech).

I missed early decision for one school. They gave me an interview which was set with other early decision applicants, and I was offered a spot in their program 6 days post interview. (Starts in May 2015).

I applied to the other two schools early decision and one of them moved my application to regular admissions since my GRE didn't meet their criteria (154, 154, 4.5). This school will tell me their decision late December. The third school didn't require the GRE, but I just found out that they finished doing interviews for November, and the next interview cycle will be in March.

I have no idea how that third school is doing their interview selection process! I was really fortunate to get into the school that I DIDN'T apply early decision (and my #1 choice!!). I did keep in touch every week before, during, and after the application process with the admissions director for that school since I really wanted to get in. Maybe that contributed to the interview! I don't know exactly.

That was my experience.

Wait, for early decision you can only apply to one school, the pctas will not let you apply to any other school. How did you apply to 3, do you mean you applied early?

Gotcha. Sorry, I should've clarified.

The school that I missed ED of Aug 15 (and got accepted) was through PTCAS. (Submitted Aug 31)
The one that moved my app to regular admissions had an ED of Sept 1 through their own application website. (Submitted Aug 26)
The third school that will notify me between now and March about interviews had an ED of Oct. 1 and was through another website of their own. (submitted Aug 19)

Ok makes sense, and what is a PT tech does it require just a high school diploma?and what do you do

PT Techs require little to no experience. Many clinics who hire techs understand that they are aspiring to be PTs and are relatively employed for a short period of time until they eventually get into PT School. If anything, it's just added experience and relatively valuable.
