I am a Utah resident
I had my AADSAS application in by the end of May
My science GPA is a 3.4
My DAT is AA-19, TS-19, PAT-20
I have over 100 job shadowing hours, volunteer work in Africa, the whole 9 yards...

I don't really know how the whole application time line goes. All I know is that everybody here on the forum is getting interviews. I know my stats aren't the best, but I would have thought that I would have at least gotten ONE interview by now. But nothing... I applied to the following schools:
Case Western - Rejected in August
Midwestern - Rejected the beginning of Sept.
UNLV - Rejected the beginning of Sept.
Nova - Rejected today (Sept 15th)

I am starting to get nervous, because I felt like I was qualified for UNLV and Midwestern (my roommate got an 18 on the DAT and got into Midwestern, and I know a few people who have gotten into UNLV with a 19).

I am still waiting to hear back from:
Temple
Tufts
NYU
Western U
Virginia Commonwealth
Creighton
University of Kentucky
University of Louisville

Did I totally miss the ball on which schools to apply to? Did I totally choose the wrong schools?

Maybe I am over reacting, and all hope is not lost. I can't help but start to loose hope, when I see just about everybody on here is getting interviews (many with lower stats).

Do you guys have any incite? Is there still time? What do you guys think? Thanks a lot!

you did miss out on applying at OSU. over 80% of the out of state students are from UTAH every year

what is your DAT breakdown, do you have any scores lower than a 16?

Well, I actually took the DAT twice. Creighton and UNLV told me specifically that they take the better score from each individual section. My two test scores break down like this:

(1st and 2nd time respectively)
PAT: 20--18
QR: 17--16
Reading: 17--20
Bio: 17--18
Gen Chem: 18--21
O Chem: 20--18
TS: 18--19
AA: 18--19

you still have plenty of schools to hear from. i would contact them to find out if they have everything that your appliaction needs

If NYU rejects you, then something is up. Your stats fit right in there and there is no reason why you shoulnt get an interview there.

Maybe it's your LORs?!?! Four rejections already, and it's only September. That's harsh! I'm still waiting for NYU. My stats are around the same as yours. My GPA's a little lower, but DAT is a little higher (only took DAT once). Did you call the schools you were rejected from to ask what the reasons were? I know mistakes are made, and it's worth a shot to call. Good luck!

I'd be a little suspicious. My stats are a bit lower than yours and I've had a few invites. As the others said, I would call the schools that rejected and ask for some feedback. All sorts of mistakes can be made. Good luck with things.

Your stats seem pretty average, as the applicant pool is extremely competitive. It's \not that you did anything wrong, it's that there are too many qualified candidates. Sometimes admissions can be a crapshoot, so I wouldn't worry about it, you'll get a few interviews, you just need to be patient.

However, if the rejections keep piling up, then it might be the rare case that something is indeed wrong. The only thing I could think of is that you had a professor that was out to get you and wrote a terrible letter of recommendation.. But I really think you're fine.

call and ask if there was someting wrong with ur app. something is definitely weird.

If you plan on calling the schools that rejected you... instead of asking what's wrong, I'd ask them why did I get rejected.... and how can i make my application stronger...if you get a direct answer and there is something you can do about it, maybe you could edit AADSAS or what ever...when the time for edits rolls along?
