- Encounter: Did all the opening stuff correctly. Did not thickly butter on the empathy. Ran out of time once but I had already closed and was fielding a "challenging question" she left for the end. Had some seemingly unsatisfied customers (particularly one that wanted a certain medication and I explained it may or may not be indicated, she then sighed and looked displeased). Closed every encounter. .
- Phys Exam: I'm fast at this and I believe I did everything appropriately. I probably missed a few maneuvers here and there. This was the one of the highest sections on my schools version of CS.
-Counseling, I was never specific even if the patient wanted me to be specific about the dx. So I just mentioned that it could be x but we need to do additional tests to come to final diagnosis. Forgot to mention the need for additional physical exam in 2/3 cases
- Note: I am doing EM and I am used to writing very concise notes. I did not max out the HPI section on every case. My Phys exam was structured like every FA note, though I did occasionally forget to write some maneuvers I performed. For example explicitly mentioning my thyroid exam. Doing specific hearing type physical exam maneuvers.
- DDx: I always put 3 DDx even if the 3rd was a bit of a stretch (in retrospect I wish I hadn't done this). On half I was very sure about the first two DDx. On the 3 cases I found the presentations less specific and given the complete absence of positive physical exam my DDx felt week. On 3 cases I seriously had no idea and just picked the most common DDx for that CC.
- Orders: I was conservative with orders (Like I would be in real life), orders were primarily focused at my top 3 differentials, did not do any pan ordering like what is in FA
