Quick and easy breakdown--- First off, i am giving my honest opinion, and probably should be taken arbitrarily. I thought this test was so effing hard. I started studying completely from scratch 1/3/11 ---5 years since my last bio or chem class and NO ORGANIC 2---and 10 years since my last math-- QR by far the worst to study for, do not put it off last because it wil make you cry and want to quit studying-- QR real test as bad as the preparation

Pat-22
QR-22
RC-21
Bio-20
GenC-26
Ochem-23
Ts-22
AA-22

I thought Ts and PAT was complete bogus--

Pat aperature passing was real hard b/c the structures are bulky and non symmetrical. Unlike anything I saw in CDP or AChiever-- Definitely need achiever for PAT--(achiever is a threeforeone--same software identical format, PAT practice and Reading) Angles were really hard in my opinion, normally getting 12/13 or CDP and i felt unsure about practically all the angles- hole punch, easy, TFE easy---- Cubes- breaking all the rules, bullchit!! i had 7 structures and 2 of them had cubes that were connected by endlines only-- achiever has a couple do them right- and patterns was completely completely horsechit- first i never finished a cdp or achiever with more than 10 secs left but somehow i got to patterns with 18 mins left- norm for me was 8 at most- and without those 18 mins i would have missed so many- these broke the rules too-- folded forward was the only possible answer, nothing was to scale, neither size or shading was proportional- test makers are assssssses. my attitude about PAT could have been biased after the TS section
Ts- HARD- harder than anything i have seen, not the calculations on achiever hard, but the depth of concept hard. My suggestions-- Get through all your info-cliffs and barrons ap- Chad (absolute must, i am suggesting an increase to 100/month, and still be worth it) and destroyer a must. After getting through it all, do 3 practices, 2007/2009 and an achiever- after those 3 focus on all the information that are not on those test- who cares about those test because they are not going to be similar at all- especially because the questions are replaced-- focus on everythign that is not on those test!!!! Hormones- know them, that is 1 free answer- hard bio info- bullchit questions all the way through- had a virus question that the definintion was for transductions but the only possible answers was transformation- none of my calculations were in equation format, calculate all the way through-- approximate one gen chem questions-- answer was 4 approximately and real answer was 3.7 -- the answer choices were -50 -2 1 2 hmmmmm??? bullchit and orgo- the reactions, you will have all seen before, but for orgo and the rest of TS out of the 100 questions, I only seen 3 questions, 1 from each section that were remotely close to all the questions i have done--5000+ (practice test etc) crazy! ( with the exception of the reactions) orgo-reaction, 3-carbon- weak base weak nuc, protic solvent had both E1 and Sn1 answer choices--- dont be surprised to get bull chit like this
overall gen chem hardest thought i missed 7 questions, was praying to just have a 'competitive' score and a few times considered giving up, dont let this happen to you-
RC- never finished on time 1 single practice test- never scored over 18 on any practice test
QR- rarely finished on time and never over a 19

i think i got lucky because, of course, my 15 minute break took me 17 minutes and then they have to metal detect you and check you in so i got to my passage with 57 mins on clock, and knowing i never finished on time, I think jump started my engine and I somhow prevailed- Ethics and fungi passage- something else

achiever--TS/aa/Pat 19/18/17,,, 18/18/18,,, 18/18/20

I think my forrible TS was balanced with a slightly easier QR and reading section, and i think no matter what my AA would have been similar but my score distribution wouldn't have been as pretty.

bottome line- you wont see anything that is familar so understand the concepts because that is the only way it will work-- chads awesome- dont loose focus or give up during the test- and when you get nonsense questions- oh well - lastly, study your hardest and do your best, regardless of results, the euphoric feeling is worth it all.

any questions i got you--
props-RICHROSS IN THE MOFO and Vatsale!!

I was somewhat pissed too when I had 24 AA

but grats 22 is a solid score

After 21, it's all about the rest of your application.

Had a 21AA/22TS/20PAT friend get into harvard, while 24AA/24TS/22PAT friend applied to 15 schools and got accepted to only a state school.

you curse to much and you clearly seem to be VERY delusional. if you never saw similar questions you wouldn't have gotten those scores. with your attitude, and being that dentists have the highest depression rates, i suggest you see a psychiatrist.

not true

Schools do know that there is a huge gap between 21 and 23. It looks like only 2 AA difference but 21 makes 90 percentile while 23 makes 98.5 percentile. From what you have said it sounds like you have scored 21 in your DAT

nvm you have 23 🙂

All sections 22+ too 😉

so yeah, i think the only school that is DAT hungry is Columbia. Harvard tried to be all about the DAT a few years back (2006 cycle, average DAT was 24.4), but they have totally changed their standard for admissions. The average DAT for 2010 was 21. The difference between a 23 and 21 is just 2-3 questions from each section. 90th percentile is still pretty darn good.

It's totally about the rest of the application dude.

I def agree though, i'm sure he/she was familiar with the material with that kind of score.

Damn dude you rocked the chems, Im glad Chads worked out for you and that you did stellar in that section. I don't know how many times you posted questions and I tried to answer them to the best of my capabilities. You definitely did improve a lot by the end and it had shown. You deserve those scores. Overall great scores man and good luck with your application.

good job! but no need to scare fellow SDNers. your breakdown is the only one that sounds freaked out and seems to imply that everyone should run for the hills and panic. a bit of mind games to psych out fellow applicants? lol

lol thanks everyone!! I was intoxicated as all hell when i wrote that, but I do think the test was total bogus, but i want to also give good advice when i have the time..

>Thanks everyone!! allah is greater, i guess i will know sooner than later-- according to you apparently-- thanks frogger, lector!! all great stuff.. Ill post some helpful advice soberly when i have the time!
