Hi guys, really appreciate those who take the time and read this. Here is my story
took comsae D back in March without much studying and got <300 (yea, a real wake up call). COMLEX scheduled on 06/12
Started going thru FA and q Banks. took comsae C on 06/09 and got 426 (really started to freak out and postponed COMLEX to 06/23)
More FA and q Banks, took comsae A on 06/13 and got 446 (at this point, finger crossed for the real deal)
Took the COMLEX on the 23rd and felt semi-great but here is where the dilemma comes in. I also have the usmle scheduled for 07/03 because I know I like anethesia and there aren't that many aoa programs out there so I was highly recommended to take step 1. Right now, I am scoring at 55% on Uworld and haven't done any NBME practice tests so I tentatively made my decision of cancelling my usmle. I am mentally tired from preparing for the comlex and I just don't think I can hold down more studying. More importantly, I feel like i am not fully ready for step 1 and taking it will just do more harm than good at this point. I hope i made the right call here... I will follow up with this when I get my comlex score.
a quick question, if my comlex score comes back ok (by this I mean on par with program average), does taking usmle step 2 and do well increase my chances with ACGME programs?
