This is not my only offer, but currently my top choice. I’m not sure how I could’ve not “blinked first” in this situation. It seems as if my only options were to a) ignore it and hope by July nobody noticed, b) take a psych class (which is untenable in my current employment/financial situation), or c) advocate for myself and try to push for reconsideration of my creditsWho is going to blink first? It was you. You've told them to accept your credits or forget about getting you to matriculate there. If they have plenty of other admitted applicants, they might just say, "Bye, Felisha!" and that will be that. I hope that this isn't your only offer.
Every other school that I have interviewed at accepts history/political science/ethics courses as falling under the behavior and social science designation. Thanks :/Is a deferred matriculation a possibility here in the worst-case scenario? IDK the logistics of that. But be prepared that other institutions will have similar course designations for pre-reqs; sorry this happened to you OP
Edit: meant deferred matriculation
They have already said that in the previous communication. You need to tell them that you reconsidered your position and will be able to fulfill this as long as they will accept a CC (likely preferred) or online course.Thank you all for the advice. My goal was to be as professional and polite in my correspondence. The gist of what I said more so was “I want to make this work because this is my top choice, but I’m worried about the financial and time risk of taking on an undergraduate course.”
If the response from the dean is that this rule is steadfast and my credits will not be considered as social science, I will move forward with either a community college or online course to fulfill this requirement.
Yes, you screwed up if this is your only accept.Deleted as question was answered.
