So, I was verified back in June. Since one of my parents received an MD in a foreign country, but completed residency in the US, I put the highest level of education as MD, and location of highest level of education at a school in US (where residency was completed).

Was this a mistake? I considered the highest level of education as residency, but should I have mentioned the foreign school? This would not be a big deal to me, except that I received an interview at the school of my parent's residency, and I don't want my interviewer to think I lied about alumnus status on my AMCAS. Should I send an email to admissions to correct this now, or am I already in trouble?

Opinions? Thanks in advance.

Since your parent never attended that "School of Medicine" to receive his or her MD, then yes I think you made a mistake. As far as sending an email, that's a tough question. It's probably not such a big deal to just bring it up in your interview (and then they could just add a note to your file), but don't trust me on this, I am really in no position to make that call.

Just let it ride.

Technically, your parent didn't get their MD there, but the school knows or can verify that. In doing so they will see they did their residency which still makes them an alumni of the medical program.

If they bring it up, acknowledge it was a simple mistake and move on w/o excuses. In all reality nobody is going to ask and no reason to discuss. The link *might* get you an interview, but you have to earn an admission, so it won't ultimately change anything if you are a good candidate.
