Hey guys. I'm in the process of writing my personal statement and studying for my PCAT which i planned on taking in Oct. Reading all these threads about people already submitting their applications 3 weeks ago has me really worried I fell too behind. So heres my situation.

My school will mail my transcripts out tomorrow. How long do you think it will take to reach pharmcas?
Since I'm applying to some CA pharmacy schools I'll be submitting my app as soon as my LORs are finished. But the problem I'm seeing is with applying to schools that require a PCAT. Since I planned on taking my PCAT on Oct 28 Pharmcas won't recieve them by around Dec 1st right? I'm worried that I might not make the deadline or if I do I'll be one of the last people submitting theirs and I wont have a chance! :scared::scared:

Should I just not apply to schools with a Dec deadline schools and focus on Jan and Feb deadline schools? I still think its possible for me to take the PCAT on Sept 18 if I pay a late fee but I know I wont score nearly as good as if I would take it in Oct. Should I just risk it and take it anyways? If anyone could give me some advice on what to do I'd really appreciate it!

PharmCAS usually clears test scores within 5 weeks.

Be careful about references, often times students find out their references flake out or turn in the letters really late. A month's time is usually the norm to expect a completed reference, especially now that the school year is starting.

You are definitely safe for January and beyond deadlines. December is a little iffy. I would direct this question directly to the schools you are considering applying to that have a December deadline. Under no circumstances would I advise you to try to take the PCAT earlier in September given that you feel strongly that it would negatively affect your PCAT score.

Hey thanks for the reply. So I know that im "safe" for Jan deadlines but are my chances getting into those schools less than if I were to apply a month earlier?

The earlier you apply, the better your chances with rolling deadlines. However, what's done is done and you can't really change things so buck up and make it work.
