Did NOTHING my sophomore year, otherwise a good app - will it hurt?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
So I moved across the country after freshman year to a top 25 research (I'm a transfer) but did nothing application worthy at all that year. I tried to get on a lab in the spring but it didn't work.

My app is otherwise good and junior year I got plenty done; 100 hrs hospital volunteer, 40 hours shadowing, almost 300 hours research

My freshman year I had a full time job

My question is, are my hours high enough even though they were all done in one year and nothing was done sophomore year?

would love to attend top 20, even stanford

thanks

If it comes up in an interview just say you moving and wanted to focus on academic for a year.

Get on the ball though and don't make it a habit

That is what I was thinking; for sure my first fall semester I wanted to just focus on school, getting used to the new area etc. but I with I had done something/started something in the spring.

I hope this excuse will fly
Looks like you need to think creatively

Just talk about how it was hard to make new professional networks into opportunities. When your in the middle of the application cycle you Learn to spin every weakness into a strength if you try hard enough

I use the summers. But organizations like Big Brothers/Sisters is a 1 year commitment but it's one day a week which isn't terrible.

I am in the same situation.
I have done nothing on my Freshmen year. Reading these replies on this post and they apply to me as well.
Yeah, I guess I can work hard from now on?
