my dental degree from outside the US but doing residency in OMS in the US.

Anybody know which medical schools offer 2 y ( just like what you would do in a 6 y program but after finishing the 4 )??

Thanks

I didn't know that internationals could do oms. Where is your residency?😀

I have been to more than couple of oral surgery rotations in canada and in united states...

I have seen OMFS residents who have not gone to schools in canada and in USA. getting into any residency is competitive, but what I learned is its not that difficult looking at foreign dentists who were in the program.

But, yes for top tier program might not have such residents.

check the PASS website.. at the time I was applying a couple of years ago there were 9 programs that would consider international grads. However, they are all 4 y because the stupid med school system requires having undergrad. However, the majority of the rest of the world don't have the college system and all the courses that are required for pre-med or pre - dental are integrated in the med/dental degree which is 7 year long after high school.

You guys dont know what you are talking about. From personal experience, as an international medical and dental graduate it is tough to match into OMFS without advanced standing. If someone is telling you otherwise do not listen, reality is different. I had everything NBDE, USMLE and did not match for several years. I matched with advanced standing.
Of course there are maybe several residents without us advanced standing, but either connections or huge amount of luck, and it is very rare.
