  1. Dental Student
Hi
I am soon to be 4th year dental student, and I am trying to figure out which GPR program to do. Honestly, I have little clue about which ones are good and which ones I should apply to. I don't even know what qualities to look for when researching GPRs. I am clueless haha :dead:

If any of you guys did a GPR, what was your experience like?

Based on what I understand... It depends on what you want to be good at. There are GPRs that try to produce well-rounded clinicians, ones that focus mainly on dentures, implants, molar endo, bread & butter, extractions, etc. You just need to know what you're interested in practicing. If you feel you got a good understanding of endo but had a lackadaisical experience with implants, you might want to find a program that does a lot of those. As for finding a particular program, looking around the GPR/AEGD interview threads may help. You might also want to talk to other people from your class or your school's faculty for their recommendations/suggestions.

Now is the moment. Visit some programs. Residents will tell you all you want to know. July is too late.

Woww, didn't know July would be too late. I guess I should start doing research asap. Thanks!

The current class of residents, who have done all of the rotations and been in clinic for 11 months are there now. The new residents in July know very little.
