I took stats and calc 1 and I got a B+ in both, and I blame my poor choices for both. Instead of studying for them like I did for other classes (orgo, psych, bio), I kinda pushed them aside.

Now I completely regret my decision. Is it going to hurt me terribly? Even at schools that don't require math?

I got a B in gen chem for the same reason, but an A in calc-based physics, so i don't think it was my poor math skills, but rather poor choices and misplaced motivation.

You're fine as long as you have a strong BCPM GPA, which is totally possible with a few B+s on the transcript. Not a big deal.

Genuinely not sure if troll.

B+s are a nonissue as long as it isn't a habit. If 99% of your transcript is As and you got a B in the other 1%, that's seriously fine.

Even with a C in calculus, my sGPA is still over 3.8.

It's not like 100% of med school matriculants have an 8.0 GPA.

That's because you haven't been here long. Hang out for a bjt and it becomes clear that a lot of people on the site are very anxious about small problems and it's usually serious.

Keep your GPA above a 3.8 and you're fine, nobody will even notice. I suck at math and I got a bunch of acceptances from reputable MD schools. Don't worry at all

I like to think I was relatively normal before my pre-med advisor told me to reconsider medicine after getting a B in gen chem... freaked me out good.

B+ is half decent. I got a C+ in my Calc 1 class... Now that is lethal...

Gosh, I was such an unfocused idiot then...
And they won't even let me retake it

People get in with F's

Well it was more like "if you can't get an A in gen chem then you won't in OChem and biochem. Also, Bs look bad in general." Still freaked me out.

I now think it was mostly because a little under 4000 of the incoming freshman said they were at least considering medicine so I'm pretty sure it was a tactic to get people to drop.
