Hey guys I am a little distraught. I recently recieved my second attempt at the comlex back and I actually did worse the second time. The first time I was within 5 points of passing.

The first attempt I studied on my own and just focused on micro, pharm and omm didnt go through first aid at all. The second time I studied first aid only and DIT as well as usmle RX. I dont know what to do. Should I take a different class?:scared:

does the score report tell you what your weakest subjects were? that i think would be a good thing to focus on.

you need a board review course. did you take COMSAE before taking COMLEX? COMSAE is a good indicator of how well you will perform on the actual COMLEX and if your score on the is less that 350 you need additional studying before you are ready.
Be aware many states are considering banning license applicants who have failed USMLE or COMLEX 3 times...( and this is not 3 times level 1, 3 times level 2, etc BUT 3 times over all...so you have just hurt your chances of getting a license by already failing twice )

its not 3 times overall, its 3 times each. Also it's unlikely this will be adopted in many states, read up on it today..

Just saw the most recent update on line ..see below

http://www.fsmb.org/usmle_eliinitial.html

BUT....
while currently some states are doing the 3 times each, have generous numbers of attempts. others are not...
and the FSMB is considering moving to limitation of 3 times overall....recent meetings have had them considering forcing states to move to their viewpoint as many HMO's and insurance companies are mandating it
this is also being considered for board certifications in the specialties....so if you do manage to squeak by in the primary certification..can you do the same for your specialty exams? Many hospital med staffs, HMO's and insurance companies are demanding their physicians be certified...and to not have failed the exams...
there is also the Maintenance of certification issue and what the states are considering as maintenance of Licensure...
gotta study for the rest of your lives kiddies
