so.....Detroit mercy changed their pre-req requirement around the time when my AADSAS app got sent to each schools. And since I don't meet the new pre-req requirements anymore, I decided not to send in supp fee.

however, I still got interview invite from the school today.

Has anyone had this happened????
Im not sure if it is a good idea to call them and say "umm... so... I didn't take microbio (new pre-req requirement) and I didn't send in supp fee either. did you guys make mistake in giving out interviews?" haha.

I was wondering the same thing, although I don't have any advice for you I am in a similar situation. I have applied to UF and did not complete a supp. app. and they are still processing my application. I'm wondering if they are still reviewing me as an applicant to determine if I am worthy of a 2ndary or if I'm already into the "should we give this candidate an interview" category.

This is not quite the same thing, but when I was applying to colleges I decided that there was a school on my list I didn't want to attend and therefore didn't send in their supplemental application or the fee.

A few months later, I got an email from admissions asking me to fill out the supplemental application. I politely responded that I was no longer interested in applying to their school and that I wanted to withdraw my application.

They wait-listed me anyway.

It was the most bizarre thing. I was baffled for two reasons: (1) I thought I had been clear about my intention to withdraw my application and (2) the school I am referring to is actually a top school with a low admission rate--they have no shortage of amazing applicants.

I had nothing against them, it just wasn't the right choice for me. Anyway, that's what happened to me.

Does UDM specifically state that one must take ALL of their pre-reqs before the application process starts otherwise they will not be considered for a spot? To my knowledge the only school that does this is UMDNJ. I think all of the other schools assume that you will have time to just finish their prerequisites before you matriculate--that is the condition that most schools have.

I think the most important question is: would you actually take micro (whether in the spring semester or over the summer) and attend UDM if you were accepted? What you should do would depend on the answer to that.

I would definitely call in and ask them about it. Having the invite is nice, but they may have made a mistake. I read past threads on SDN and saw one user had an "offer made" status on Dec. 1st but had it change back to "under review" within a day. The user wasn't accepted. Horrible mistake, but a mistake nonetheless.

If you call in and it turns out it wasn't a mistake, then hooray! They liked you so much they let you bypass the supplemental fee. And stomatology may be right - they may assume that you are going to take the pre-req course before matriculating.

They gave me interview even when I only took 3 credit biochem( they require 4).

I wouldn't say anything to them. Worse case is that they might make you take it in spring 2014

thats a good point.
thanks for all the replies everyone.

I already graduated so taking microbio will not be easy.
I was just wondering if UDM is not getting enough applicants (perhans cuz of the unfortunate economic collapse) and thats why they are interviewing ppl that didn't even send in supp fee.
I'm having these thoughts because I heard that someone went there for interview not too long ago, but she was the only person that they interviewed that day.

A little oblivious to your surroundings?

"Applying to colleges" and applying to ds aren't even in the same galaxy.
