Assuming that the difference between low-expansion diestone and high-expansion diestone, is the amount of expansion that occurs during setting, what would be the reason for using a high-expansion die stone?

Die stones that are advertised for its advantages of having high expansion are the ones designated for usage with rubber base impression materials, especially polyvinyl siloxane. These rubber base materials would experience certain amount of shrinkage after impression taking, so the die stones are supposed to compensate for that...

is there any other reason, though?
