My orgo 2 class never covered Diels-Alder cuz it "wasn't relevant."

I took 2 DAT Bootcamp full length tests so far and got a 22 each time in organic chemistry. I do think I saw at least one or two Diels-Alder questions, but I have no clue how to do them.

Could the real DAT have a lot of DA questions? I don't wanna be caught out in the cold and have like 7 DA questions and not know how to do any of them.

Don't be surprised if you see any diels alder on your exam. It is a common topic in organic chemistry. If diels alder is not relevant, I wonder what is.

i never learned diels alder in school either! however, it is no different than any other reaction in ochem! You have your diene and your dienophile. remembers that alkenes have some nucleophilic/electrophilic character. It always helped me to think of an alkene as having a minus and positive formal charge on adjacent carbons. They are simply linking together via their p orbitals.

I have seen them on my practice exams and others I know who have recently taken the test told me that they saw 1 or 2. Either use bootcamp, chads or youtube and they should give you enough understanding to get them.
