Does anyone know the difference between fixed action pattern and imprinting?

imprinting can be thought as something that is learned.

fixed action pattern is something that initiate or instinctive.

FAP is a reflex that is instinctual that benefits the animal.

Imprinting is a process that happens very early in a animal's life that helps it with survival. For example, a gosling would think that the first large moving object it sees is it's mother, and would follow the large object around.
