A friend in dental school told me that some of the schools actually invite the people that they take seriously in the morning group and the afternoon groups are mostly for waitlists. She told me that most of the people in her class including herself were in the morning group and even during the interview process she saw that the morning group had significantly better stats than the afternoon.
Do you guys agree on this??

never heard of that...at one school i interviewed at (state school), ppl from the area were interviewed in the afternoon while the others who drove long distances interviewed in the morning...
also at some schools..some ppl had their faculty interview first and their student second or vice versa

if an interview has like 14 applicants it doesn't make sense to interview them all at once..i think they do that more to structure the day and not waste time more than anything....any other thoughts?

another wierd thing she told me that makes me think that it might be true is that both she and one of her undergrad classmate got a interview on the same date, and her classmate who had lower stats got an interview invite 2 weeks before my friend but got a afternoon time while my friend who got her interview email 2 weeks later got the morning time.
It all might be just by chance but she said that even most of her classmates in dental school kind of think in the same way.

I am guessing it depends on the school. At one of my interviews that had morning and afternoon interviews, I interviewed in the afternoon. In my interview there were students with great stats.

Also you have only spoken to your friend and a few of her friends. It would be interesting to see what the entire class had to say.

Which school is this? B/c I had an afternoon interview, and this is just adding more to my worries.

i cannot agree with this statement for some schools.....especially the ones that let you choose your time to interview. consequently, i've had 2 morning interviews and 1 afternoon one! :scared:

A ***** post. Good original palaver is hard to come by.

As Xtractime pointed out: many schools let you choose afternoon vs morning or don't have multiple interview sessions in one day.
