What is the difference between pathology and pathophysiology? Have Robbins for Path, but could someone recomend a good pathophysiolgy book for class and for USMLE.
Thanks

pathology is like, addison's disease is adrenal insufficiency. you get hyperpigmentation, yadda yadda yadda.

pathophysiology is like, WHY do you get hyperpigmentation? because ACTH is related to POMC (proopiomelanocortin) which leads to hyperpigmentation.

so path is just, this disease is this that and the other.
pathophys is, why does this happen? (much harder in my opinion).

as i am going thru 2nd year classes is there any way tho study pathophys while studying path? which source would be good?

Boards and Wards by the authors of First Aid? Is that what you mean? Any other good Pathophysiology books? I want a good book to use along with robbins
