What is the difference between these 3 : Diagnostic Rad, IR & NM ??

I know after the Pelim year, we can apply for Diagnostic Rad,
Is IR fellowship ?
What about NM? is it a residency or fellowship after Diagnostic Rad?

Are LORs from Nuclear Medicine doctors helpful for Diagnostic Rad match ?

Thanks in advance

Only way to DR is through a 4-year residency (not including internship). Both NM and IR can follow DR as fellowships.

You can get to NM through a residency as well, but you can also do a NM fellowship after a peds, IM, or FP residency (maybe some others, but I'm not sure). NM physicians without DR training are become more and more rare. I think there is a long thread in that subforum that you may want to read.

Most people get to IR by way of DR, but there are also combined DR/IR programs. I may be wrong, but at present I don't think you can get certified in IR without also getting certified for DR. This is an evolving area, so whatever is the situation is right now is likely to change.

Are clinical researches with NM doctor (but doesn't have DR) helpful in DR match ?
Or considered another speciality ?

Any research is helpful in your application...it absolutely does not have to be applicable to radiology (though I do think the more relevant, the better). Nuclear Medicine, even if not done with a radiologist, would definitely be up there as far as usefulness for your application.
