I have been looking on MSAR trying to finalize my school list and have been looking at the grading. I know true unranked P/F is the best in terms of stress and students being more collaborative. When it comes down to "unranked" P/F schools that internally rank for MSPE vs schools with H/HP/P/F, is there really any difference? It seems like the internal rank is almost the same because you are still compared to the rest of the class as if you were being graded on a scale. If given the option between these 2 grading/ranking systems, would either be more beneficial? I am on a WL at a school with H/P/F and they only rank the top 10% which at first I wasnt about at all but I would rather know my rank via that instead of not knowing but still having it sent to residencies.
