Can someone bullet some of the major differences in the process b/t becoming an MD vs DO? Thanks!

To ask it another way, if you had one MD and one DO doctor working in the same office, would there have been any differences in process in which they became doctors?

For all intents and purposes ... no.

Thank you ShyRem. So it's reciprocal? Does it matter if MD grads do DO residencies and DO grads do MD residency? *I don't mean prejudices, I mean actual rules or guidelines that dictate the process?

MD's cannot do DO residencies, but DO's can do MD residencies. Both kinds of residencies will allow you to practice in that specialty. DO residencies might make it harder or impossible to do a fellowship through an ACGME (MD) program, so you need to evaluate your goals in deciding. There are also dual accredited programs through the AOA and ACGME.

my understanding is some usmle programs accept comlex also. you just have to contact the programs you are interested in to find out.

In some cases - yes, but it's probably better to apply to ACGME residencies with a USMLE score.
