Pharmacists can work at the inpatient pharmacy in a hospital, or mail order. I worked at mail order for about a year. Part of the year I spent answering clinical calls from patients and taking notes for the pharmacist while they counseled the patients over the phone. The other part of the year I worked in the dispensing pharmacy where it was like an assembly line. The techs opened the bottles and filled jars full of meds and the RPh's put the meds into the machines. Pretty remedial and most RPh's said they forgot everything they knew in Pharm school. I am looking to work in a hospital setting myself, after I graduate Pharm school.
