Dear all,

Does anyone know of any schools besides MSUCOM which allows you to apply and be accepted without all your reqs done under the promise that you will finish before you start?

I am in this predicament and will not be done with organic 2 and organic lab before June 1st but still want to apply early. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't want to email like 20-30 schools.

actually, most, if not all, are this way. you should be ok.

Wow, didn't know that. Thanks for your quick response! What about the big 3 Caribbean schools?

Go ahead and apply early, and don't apply Carib. It's not worth it anymore with future GME changes cutting them out first. as long as your ore-reqs are done before med school starts, you should be okay.

Go ahead and apply early in June (even if you are taking MCATs in August or in July, the AACOMAS takes a ton of time to verify all information except for your MCAT-usually 2 weeks for MCAT). You will have the opportunity to list those classes in progress and most programs will allow for you to complete a pre-req after being accepted, i.e. if you didn't take O. Chem II until after interviewing and then being accepted it'd be ok as long as you have it complete by June 1 of your matriculation year (in this case 2013). Good luck this cycle. 👍
