A request to all of you out there who have taken all the AAMC practice exams:
If you were to rate the difficulty of all the exams from 1-8, from 3R to 10-CBT, how would you rate them?
I'm trying to determine at what time I should take each exam (so that I can take an easy one when I'm burnt out/want to boost my confidence). More importantly, I'm trying to determine how my non-AAMC practice exams compare to the real thing.
To those of you who are retaking the MCAT, which AAMC exams would you say are the closest in difficulty/easiness to the real thing?
Any input would be appreciated GREATLY.
Two more weeks of studying (and hopefully no more than that)!!!!:meanie:

There has been tons of discussion about this in the past and I think the answer varies from person to person.

My personal opinion:
3r is the easiest.
4r is the hardest.
The ones most like the real thing were 7, 8, & 9. (No 10 when I took it so I can't speak to that one).

In my opinion, degree of difficulty in ascending order:

3, 6, 5, 9, 7, 4/8 ...can't rate 10 cause I never took it

the newer ones are supposed to be closest to the real thing. From my experience, my August form was unlike anything I had ever taken (and not in a good way - the PS was insane). But format wise, it was closest to 7 and 9 in that the science sections were more passage-based, and bio was very much like verbal.

Ditto!

Personally, in order of decreasing difficulty

4, 5-6, 7-8-9, 3

Dashes represent equivalent difficulties.

Thanks so much!!

I have tests 8,9 in paper format. How different are they from the CBT exams, question-wise? Anyone done both?

You can find these tests on www.e-mcat.com
