Hey everyone,
I am a second year dental student and am getting ready to start treating patients a couple times per week in the clinic. I don't want to have to carry ANOTHER book around with me so that I have my drug reference, so I want it digitally on my PDA.
My problem is my PDA is old PocketPC03 and my phone needs to be replaced and so I am debating,
Do I get a new Windows Mobile based smartphone?
or a phone now, and a new PDA seperate later?
So here are the questions I need answered to help me decide:
#1 = Which is the best PDA drug reference for DENTISTS?
#2 = And then is that software compatible with windows mobile smart phones?
And if so, WHICH VERSION of windows mobile?
PocketPC 03 or 04
Windows Mobile 5 or 6
And then WHICH PHONE has that OS, for that software, on Verizon?
I know it is a mess because WM6 is just taking off, and there are lots of different phones out there, and lots of different references that may not be compatible with it yet.
epocrates = is NOT compatible with WM6
Lexi-Comp = says "We are not currently compatible with the Smartphone edition of Windows Mobile (versions 5 or 6)"
Mosby's = says only PocketPC 03 (But I don't think it is current)
So I am looking at a strange window of technology where I can't find what I need. Does anyone have any good ideas?
