Greetings,

I am too complex in that I have to know things really well conceptually in order to feel confident... so bear with me...

My question is: how are dihybrid crosses related to mitosis and meiosis? Meaning, can you tell me where the AaBb x AaBb come from in relation to mitosis and meiosis? I feel like I need to have the A, a, B, b letters drawn out on chromosomes and presented from zygote form all the way to gamete form for me to understand how things are combining and what is really going on...

Thank you
You only have Homologous recombination is Meiosis.
Mitosis is simply a replication of cells and their genomes.
You are considering homologous recombination of Meiosis and independed assortment of chromosomes when doing a Punnet Square.

Hope this helps.
