I have an engineering degree and am not really into the corporate world. I want to switch to medicine now that I am 27. My premed course GPA is 4.0. however my engineering GPA in a top ranked engineering school is 3.3 what are my chances, and am I too old for medicine?

...what are my chances...
Way too little information to say. Search around on here some or over in the dedicated "What Are My Chances?" forum to get an idea of extracurricular activities/volunteering options that people pursue. You'll need both. And an MCAT score is the major variable. Until you have an actual idea of what you'll make on the MCAT, this is all academic.
...am I too old for medicine?
No. If you were too old, why would there be a non-traditional forum on here with 76k posts?

MY gf just started med school at an Ivy and has several classmates over 30.

Yes, you are too old. It's not like doctors are ever 27+ or any med student has been 27 in school.

Well, you've got a lot going for you. First, you're already done with a BS, so anything you may have to take is less hoop-jumping and more specific to what you need. Second, if you're science GPA is a 4.0 that overshadows a 3.3 (which really isn't bad in and of itself if everything else is good). Third, based on your major it would appear that you'd only have to do a couple prerequisites like OChem and some biology, but maybe you've already done that.

Good luck!

I'm 34 and started medical school a couple of months ago...and one of my upperclassmates was even older than me when he switched from engineering. Many engineers have - so yes it is doable and no you are not too old.
