i'm currently a 4th year osteopathic student considering entering psych vs internal medicine next. i'm doing a psych elective next month. if i decide i like psych enough i will plan on doing a rotating internship next year and then apply for pgy 1 psych for the following year. my question is would i still be able to apply through eras next year even though i won't be in school? would it be worth it to just apply out of the match for a pgy 2 spot instead?? any insight would be appreciated.
