Dire need of personal statement/interview help!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Be real and tell your story. Speak from your heart. Just make sure you train yourself prior to the interviews so you won't cry like a little girl.

The first draft of my PS was very story like. There was a lot of info about who I was as a person and what happened in my life, which led me into dentistry. It was very informational and explained a lot about myself. By the time I finished all of that, it was about a page long.

I scrapped that entire draft.
My final draft only included 3-4 very concise lines about my background, which served as an intro.

Also, please lay off the resume in disguise PS. That's probably what 95% of all the applicants out there write about.

I did this. Then I did that. I believe these skills will allow me to become a great dentist.

Heard that one before and cocky much?

Mine was somewhat like a story, it basically laid out how I became interested, my qualities that would make me a good dentist, and my long term interests/goals (not really whether I wanted to specialize or not but where I wanted to practice and the character of dentist I wanted to be). It is tough to make a good concise statement in the short amount they give you, but be legit and your potential will show through.
